The Dialysis Crisis

About Me

I'm a carepenter from Chicago specializing in historic preservation work in older homes. I move around a bit geographically, where I find interesting work, currently in New Jersey and moving next to Wash. D.C.  I'm a lifelong peace activist, agnostic follower of Jesus and Ghandi,  have worked as a human rights monitor in Guatemala, and speak fluent Spanish. I have assisted many undocumented immigrant friends, and have had a couple of long-suffering friends die who had been on dialysis. First learned of this situation through the NY Times articles. For personal interests, I'm a weaver (like on a loom) and I'm an amateur scholar of the textiles of the indigenous cultures of Peru and Bolivia, where I studied. This Grady situation has pushed me to become much more politically active this year. One thing I believe strongly is that NO human being is "illegal".
